    Afternoon All,

Realised on Friday that the MOT runs out next Tuesday so booked bike in for a service then MOT.
Noticed bit of oil on left fork and had a call to confirm seal needs replacing.
Not being mechanically minded, was wondering if I should get both seals done?
The reason I ask is I assume the left fork will have nice new oil in, the right one won't?
    Bike is an rr8.

    Cheers all.

A good idea as you have already guessed is to have both seals done, and also have the oil refreshed at the same time. Especially as your bike is now knocking on for 6 years old.
It's recommended that the fork oil is changed at least every 4 years.

+1 on getting both done as the fork oil probs needs replacing. Best both are both as this will ensure air gaps etc will be the same.

Be aware, sometimes the seals fail due to other factors such as worn bushings or scored stantions, but most of the time though is it only dirt caught up in the seals.

If you have time go to see a suspension specialist, they may advise a different weight oil and spring to suits our weight. As the forks will be dismantled anyway the labour cost will be about the same so you will only pay parts.

My advice would be to only use genuine Honda seals bought from a local dealer. They are more expensive but will last much, much longer.
