Well guy yesterday's historic event was epic! Celebrating 50yrs of the Forth Road Bridge! The turn out was way more than expected over a 1000 strong! Unfortunately the event hit the papers for all the wrong reasons as Kevin Meldrum was involved in a accident with a van on the days running up to the event! http:// http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/biker-behind-charity-ride-to-lose-leg-after-crash-1-3533308 He is a true inspiration raising 10's of £1000's for children's Charities and also for his high spirts and bravery in facing the loss of his leg! Yeah it was a real shock to us all when it happened Mike but his resolve and spirit is inspirational! There was a collection for Kevin and he is so proud of how it all went it and what was raised for the kids! It was an amazing day with unbelievable atmosphere! He has just posted a selfie of his legs and they didn't have to remove as much as first thought it looks like he has lost his left foot! And not the leg from above the knee but it's early days! He still has a journey ahead of him both physically and mentally dude
Your right and of course he will still be in shock .The secret is to make sure his close friends and mates stay around after all the fuss has gone and he comes out of hospital I talked to an old guy the other day and he was saying how upset he is 11 months after his wife died .He says the worse part is when every one disappears and you are on your own it must hit you .He may be ok due to the shear numbers of dudes he knows .
