Many thanks to all who have reported spammers. We seem to have had a few issues and Rob informed me that He will be looking into it tonight. Fingers crossed. Again if anyone spots spammers then just report or PM a mod thanks again all

lol I think there is issue with the spam filter. ways around it or something So just hoping, fingers crossed, toes crossed Rob can sort it
Used to having the forum to myself at this time of night "apart from the ones that don't log out" and of course the few visitors and members lurking around in the shadows Kept me entertained though
From what I have been informed it should be harder for spammers to join now. not impossible but much harder fingers crossed
A quick word on the spam spate we've been having of late. We have had quite a few new members joining recently but not immediately posting. Even if we suspect they may not genuine, it would be wrong of us to automatically ban them out of hand until they actually share their wisdom with us, so, even though Rob has now made it more onerous for spammers to gain access to the site, there may still be some 'sleepers' cropping up for a while. Remal and I will deal with them as we see them. I wonder if it can be made that when you join you have to post, like in Fight Club. I'll look into it. That is all.
Join and say hi would be a good idea but not banning anyone who does not join right away. mainly as some people do like to lurk
Is there questions in place for people joining? I found this stopped a lot of spam when other Forum's were getting spammed, it would say to Complete registration you need to answer the Following bike related question. Then made it something that bikers would know Like what is val aka the doctors race number. The spam near stopped overnight.
Problem is not everyone that rides a bike watches or knows about Motorsport Maybe a kind of questionare What year do you ride? What colour? Why do you want to join?
No these are questions pre programed with the answer. They also have the option to contact admin if they Dont know the answer but spammers and spam bots Dont select this option.
