I am wanting to upgrade my brake lines to braided hoses and run 2 lines direct from the master cylinder. do you have to make a modification to run the 2 hoses as the standard setup only has 1 hose running from the master cylinder and it has slightly confused me

Think you need a longer banjo bolt and extra copper washer into the M/C, two lines the same length and some p clips to stop em rubbing on yer mudguard. You can buy banjo bolt bleed nipples for bleeding at the M/C.

Should do apart from the M/C bleed nipple.

All fittings you need come in our (HEL) kits. You won't need to modify anything to fit them tho :)

You won't need a banjo bolt with bleed nipple. All 1000RR's have a bleed nipple built in, or should do anyhow.

See the group buy we are running at the moment ;)

Not quite sure what you would need the bleed nipple banjo for? For a start the master cyl banjo is upside down..

Better to bleed the system from the M/C Arthur, sticks outta the banjo bolt head!

But there is a bleed nipple already in the master cylinder so no need for the bolt with bleed nipple? All 1000RR's 04+ have a bleed nipple built in.

Also if you don't have a bleed nipple, just slightly crack banjo slightly open for one pump of lever (cover with cloth) and that'll sort it also ;)

Done hundreds mate, like JA says just crack off the banjo bolt, but like I say the Banjo on the master is under the cycl is it not? And as said they have bleeders on the top of the master... :)

Edit: just read your above post :)

Is there any performance gain from using the race setup instead of the standard over the mudguard way ?

It's very marginal to be fair. You do get slightly better brake feel and more equal performance from two full length lines when braking hard though.
