Bought bike only last month - as 15k miles 09 plate. Had a 600rr-8 for 5 years prior to this fireblade - but the brakes on this bike are not as good.

When riding first few miles or 5-10 minutes the front brakes are really ineffective and even with me squeezing - it really struggles to cause any impact and slows down extremely slow.
The brake lever does not push back - so its not a warped disc.

Once the bike is warm and been going for 10 minutes the brakes return to being effective and working as they should be.

I checked the front pads and they seem ok and well in limit. Also the discs are well within the limit.
The front brake lines might have been changed as they aren't the standard ones like the rear's - in fact they are slightly thinner and have a "G" labelled near the wheel.

    Any help is appreciated.

Another question is my rear brakes also seem to be making a drumming noise when pressed hard - checked pads and discs - well within the limit.

You've got Goodridge braided hoses. ABS or not?

    Ok thanks, non-ABS model.
Fault has been found - the front forks are leaking and oil dripping into caliper or brake pads/discs - when the oil is burnt out brakes work fine.
Have taken the forks out and sent them for a service and re-sealing.
