Took bike to MCT suspension today for some upgrading of the front fork internals, also got them to fit some black outer forks I brought from K Tech last year. The fork springs were upgraded and weight matched last year. Most of my riding is fast road riding on bumpy roads so Darren fitted MCT 20 mm kit, pistons and valves and rebuilt them and then set them up. He adjusted the Ohlins rear shock as well. This pic shows the new black showa fork outers. This pic shows the Oberon Pre-load adjusters I have just fitted I have brought some replacement fork caps which I am going to have re-anodised from gold to ............black of course lol as I want the maintain my OCD like black fetish, but that will wait until next year. The ride home was in heavy rain on slippery muddy roads, but I was able to push on a bit in places and I am very pleased with the results. The front now feels as though the rebound is reacting much quicker and it is handling bumps in a more controlled manner. Looking forward to really testing them on some dry roads. Next on the shopping list are some engine cover sliders, I am going for for some made of delrin by K Tech in Japan. Will post some pics when I get them, they are black and look a bit boring but are supposed to be quite tough.
I'm considering getting full k-tech treatment to my forks also. The Blade is a keeper and instead of trading up I will keep it and plan to make it my track bike. I'm relatively light about 70kg so I think I could do with softer springs and a revalve. Got some advice from my local sus specialist and he reckons I need 9.5NM springs, he reckons the Blade is optimised for a much heavier rider. Anyone got any advice where money is best spent front or rear first?
