well i have had a look at the front sprocket casing, it would appear i have to undo the top gear linkage, as the casing has to lift up to clear the water pump housing, as it goes down behind it, does the clutch housing stay bolted to the casing, can someone talk me through it cheers,
Gear linkage needs the 8 or 10mm Bolt undoing which holds the top linkage connection on to the gearbox spline, once fully removed the linkage will just slide off and you can then move to one side whilst leaving the rest connected. Don't know about your model but the only other thing that needs removing on a 08-13 model is 4 screws holding the plastic covers in place and the LHS engine mounted Crash bung if you have them fitted. Takes about 30 mins in total. Sprocket screw is a normal RH thread. Having changed mine to a 15T I still feel the need to go up to a 44T on the rear from the standard 42T That's my next job!
have you got a clutch housing located on the left hand side of the casing, bolted to it, only i have to take this off as the clutch rod ? maybe hampering the removal of the casing (i think) the casing has to (go up) before it come out as the bottom of the casing is below the water pump housing, wat a fukin palaver, all other bikes i have had you just undone 3/4 bolts, took the fukin casing off and done the job.
Yours is the 04-07 model unbolt clutch master cylinder take out clutch push rod . When this is off do not touch the clutch lever at all Undo the sprocket cover bolts its a bit of a pain in the arse but will come off . On my old bike I took the dremel to cover no need for all the messing about again
nice bike(just love pretty bikes) thanks for that, will i lose clutch fluid, that was my worry as to bleeding the system ?? and getting air in it , will do tomorrow, the joys of retirement, (message to brain, i must go slower) lol !!
realy nice bike mate, but i have a fetish for underseat exhausts, dont know why, perhaps my sokiotrist could explain, (yeah i know, to lazy to look it up)
