Is there any difference in fuel cap fitting between 08 through to 16 year bikes? I always thought they were the same but im having doubts! Cheers.

yes I think there is, there was one on ebay, he said he bought it for a 12 plate and it was for a 14 plate
That's strange because I was looking at this yesterday (recommended by @the wiz) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oberon-P...m=222740817094&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042 and it suggests 04 to 2018 take the same fitting. (Posted only for added info)
If you look at the top of the tank cowl from say a 14 bike compare it with 08, the tank sealing rubber on 14 is alot bigger. So maybe the cap itself is tiny bit smaller. Also i found out its stated by honda the 14+ fuel cap has better breather on it. If you look at parts fische you can see this on there. Im thinking only the couple parts from honda are needed the spacer and rubber sealing ring to fit them
The main difference between the 08-13 and 14-16 is the allen bolts on top went from 7 bolts to 5 bolts...and pressure breather ability. ..oh and the 14+ is noisy as fook
