I got some GB Moto Rearsets on my 08 blade. There are some wierd stuff that i need some input on. Hope someone can help. Adding some pictures of them. First of all, return spring on the brake lever? Do i have to make some bracket or something myself? And brake light switch, i guess i will have to go with the banjo style brake switch? Also, my rear master cylinder is slightly at an angle as you can see... Thoughts? The gear side is also a bit wierd, the shift rod that was included in the kit is way to short, makes the lever sit straight up. So i had to use my stock rod, and that works fine. But is it okey to have the rod connected to the gearbox at an angle like i have now? If i level it off the lever gets way to high. Are these suppose to be mounted elsewhere? Any thought are appreciated.
Hi mate. The spring for the brake lever is not essential, I don't use one on my HRC rearsets it just naturally returns. The bolt going into the master cylinder should line up better than that really. Can you not use the second hole? I'm sure it works ok but it would work much better if it was parallel with the master cylinder. The linkage should really line up with the dot on the gear linkage, it'll work the way you have it but it might be difficult changing into higher gears. Have you road tested it yet? All you're missing is a nice quickshifter, I have one for sale
My rear rotor is not getting hot, so i guess its not dragging. Well spotted mate, i did not think of that for some reason. Almost forgot this thread also. I will try to line it up with using that second slot there. Have done 2 trackdays and some road riding with that setup and on the road there is no issues. Im missing a few upshifts on track, so i guess that is why. The problem is that i have no more to go on with that rod. The GB moto rod is even shorter. Get a longer rod or an extension? The part i don't understand is the GB moto shift rod, it is about 2cm shorter than the stock rod, how in the hell is that suppose to work then? PM about that QS mate. Cheers!
Yeah does make sense as to why you'd miss on the track. The quickshifter sensor would make the rod longer
