Hi Guys, I have an RR7 and removed an Acumen gear indicator that stopped working after many years of no trouble, I decided to fit a Gipro-DS Model GPDS-H01 made by Healtech Electronics, because they look good and just plug and play into the diagnostics plug (so they claim) I cannot get it to set up at all, some gears set up correct, but some display a letter F that indicate a fault on the white cable. I have checked and double-checked the plug and socket connections, and I am sure they are ok, but now I am not sure if it is the indicator or the signal from the bike, has any one had this problem? I have now read some earlier posts about these items and it seems that they have worked ok, so my thoughts on needing an upgraded unit firmware are in question, this may seem a silly question but I assume the port at the front just behind the left middle cowl by the fuse box is the only one lol
Port is the red connector next to relay and fuse box. Is the acumen loom still attached was it hard wired or plug and play. Mine was perfect be careful the plug hasnt been pushed in too hard and a pin out the plug has come out so 1 isnt really connected.
The Acumen was soldered onto the cables from the instrument panel, at first I left them connected, but cut the cables back to the joints (as though they were never wired in) to rule this out as a problem, as far as I can tell the pins are making the 3 connections, I have even sprayed wd40 and contact cleaner. Apparently the letter F indicates a fault and usually means the signal is missing down the white wire, but before I send it back I would like to confirm it is not the bike causing the problem, is there any tests I can do on the red plug pins, to check it out.
This is a diagnostic plug other than plugging some Honda diagnostic machine I can't think of anything else sorry buddy
