I recently did a track day on a 12 blade, which has got a gear indicator incorporated into the dash. Is it worthwile buying a gear indicator for everyday road riding?
You don't really need one, but they are trick to look at, light up pretty colours, and easy to fit. Gipro seems the most popular on here.
I have an acumen and wouldn't be without it, they are cheap as chips easy to fit and they tell you what gear you are in?
Sorry to disagree, but my RR5 came with an acumen fitted which was taped over as soon as I got home. It confused the hell out of me, because when you would bang down a couple of gears coming up to a junction etc and then kept going down the box, the thing didn't react quick enough and you would be sitting at a junction in 1st and it would still be showing 4th or 5th. Then the display would start spinning around and eventually after you had pulled away would display the correct gear. So mines will stay taped up until the bikes sold. Acumens not worth the money if that's how good they are!
Mine is fine milky, I had it on my tlr then my 929 and now my rr5 and it appears to work fine, I've never had another make to compare but I'm happy enough with it.
