Quite a shock, as thought they were one of the bigger players. Might be a few bargains to be had if they have a fire sale though.
jesus can't believe it considering they just opened there bolton showroom really feel for the boss and for the staff to really are bad times at the moment in all industries worlds on meltdown

That's bad!! Can't believe it to be fair - wonder how this will affect bsb ad they have quite an involvement if I'm not mistaken?
Had my gix through the Swindon branch, it don't surprise me I called a few times with offers I'd been given and they always beat them Hands down the other dealers always said I dunno how they do it this is obviously how and why!
I have never used them but have friends who have and there were always positive comments on service and price .I don't think the hike of vat to 20% is of any help to retailers what so ever and is quite unhealthy and is strangling the life out of all the shopping centres, this surely can't continue without a slight change in policy.
well consider they quoted me £139 to the £270 my local dealer quoted me. makes some sense that they had lost money big time undercharging
What with peacocks going down this week it hasn't web great for retail!! Peacocks is a major sign that we are still in the recession and it's going to get worse - woolworth's going under sparked off the first dip and I think this could be a real sign that the highstreet is struggling big time
Its all blooming mad litho print has been on its knees for so long as an entire industry. Some really big players gone over the past year was mad how many a day were going Photography got ruined by the switch to digital no matter what peeps say to many amateurs taking 1 part cheap slr 2 part photoshop with a sprinkle of printers in asia over the web enabled amateurs to undercut pros doing jobs for next to nothing, as its not there main industry, undercutting the lads like me that rely on it to put food on the table. Personally I think the internet has allot to answer for as the ability for people to place orders for print etc abroad rather than putting back into our country, has really destroyed the industry and the fact all the print procurement companies talking the lying share of the money without actually owning a printers just playing one against another they dont care if the printers go bump as long as prints cheap and they are taking there cut mad really. Was watching the news the other day where they were going on about bringing more skilled workers in from abroad rather than hiring English the amount of people round my way in shops and stuff that can't even speak a word of English when you ask them something shocking all for immigration but the government need to get a grip of it in a controlled manner shut the borders for a while look at how hard it is to get into the USA the darn eu really has allot to answer for bring back the good old apprenticeships of the 60's ( so I can get a job in a bike dealership LMAO) bring back manufacturing and lets move away from banking and finance. plus that dam Vat increase has really put the squeeze on they should have left it at 15% also give some more power to self employed to flit staff rather than letting the business go under because of employment law tying there hands behind there back. its a real shame bout George whites and loss of a business is bad news at it makes all the others rock a little having said that if everyone whos left can hold on by there claws then when eventually we do come out of this great depression be more work for the ones that are left. moan over LOL Tom
To many branches, to much stock they can't get rid of, why? cause no one is spending and we all know the reason for that...tory fuckwits and the greedy banks. end of rant
Think you'll find that labour done a sterling job steering us into it and the tories Have been left to deal with it!! As for the banks, nobody seemed to mind when we all had brand new bikes, bmw's on the drive and decent holidays... Have to remember the banks didn't force all the idiots to keep borrowing money to live lifestyles they couldn't sustain. Yeah the banks and government f*cked up. But not like it hasn't happened before - can't just keep having economic bliss year on year, it'll always go pop and then recover again. And everyone will be loving it again when its on the up and making loads of money just like the 80's and early part of this century
I would tend to agree that the previous Labour government has much to answer for but they all mess up in the end and it's the hard working families of this country that are paying for mistakes made by the privilaged few.
Feel sorry for all the staff at George Whites, there's never a good time to lose your job, but right now it's terrible. JD
