So I confess, despite me being fairly dextrous around most tools and equipment and happy to strip, repair and assemble most of the kit around, I am nowhere near the level of engineering prowess most of you guys demonstrate on a daily basis. So have a little chortle at my expense when I tell you that while watching the increasingly overwhelmingly pompous arse that is James May reassembling a Japanese electric guitar (something I have done), I was shocked that I was completely unaware of the existence of the Japanese Industrial Standard screw head, and so had a head slapping moment when I realised that all the fasteners I fecked up on past bikes may not have been totally down to being ham-fisted after all. Being happy to admit my shortcomings generally, I've mentioned this within my social circle and have just been surprised when a friend, having just returned from a holiday in Japan, was doling out the 'Hello Kitty' and Godzilla tourist tat gifts, presented me with a pair of JIS screwdrivers as a souvenir from his trip. Yeah, Mrs Kpone thought we were both mad when I got excited, too...
