Just wondered if anyone has fitted one of these: Home :: HONDA CBR 1000 Fireblade (06-07) :: Other Parts :: Gear Shaft Support (Shiftholder) :: Calsport - Power Parts, Accessories and Spares. Did it make any noticeable difference and are they worth the money? Thanks
Yup I have one fitted .... and yes it does make a difference . Or at least it did for me ... Before fitting I was finding a few false neutrals After .... it cleaned up the gear change and I haven't missed a change since
Calsport is the cheapest place I've found that sells them. Just wondering if they would compliment a quickshifter or just be a waste as the spark/fuel is cut to unload the gearbox anyway?
YUP .. it wouldn't care if it was street or race pattern  Its function is to stop the shaft from flexing ... they do stick out quite a long way and this supports the shaft and holds it firmly .... I think I could have phrased that soooo much better
Just brought one from calsport ! I missed a gear last weekend and it did not feel nice so this should sort it !
I would be interested to know how this works on our 06 Blade guys, especially you mate, you know who you are, lol.
Gilles Gear Shift Support Honda Cbr 1000rr 04-07 Gilles Gearshift Support Honda CBR 1000rr (04-07), helps to fix shifting issues with flexing gear box shafts. FEATURES:Gearshift shaft (yzf-r6) stands about 55mm out of the gear box, it bends elastically when shifting hard or quick which is the reason for imprecise gear shifting. The shift shaft support is an additional support for the gear shaft and eliminates vague shifting. Needle bearing. Titanium color.
Well if I decide to take the plunge and treat myself to a quickshifter, I may just invest in one to be on the safe side
I have the HM Quickshifter fitted to my 06 Blade mate and don't really have any problems but I am interested in trying this quite cheap solution to those inconsistent gear changes especially down the box. I will report back my findings when I have received it and had it installed for a while.
How difficult is it to fit the quickshifter? I've heard it's a real pig of a job as you have to dismantle the airbox to get to the coils.
You do mate, tank off, airbox off, etc but it isn't that bad but then I must be honest, I had it all set up by HM Racing in Orpington at the time, they are now in Edenbridge and ask to speak to Dave, very helpful guy. Any thing else just send me a message. Steve Jordan Motorcycles also do it and can set it up on their rolling road.
