Just thought i'd share with you these lovely crash mushrooms from Gilles Tooling which you DO NOT need to drill your beautiful fairings.

They mount directly to the crank case and have a "suspension" in the mushroom to lower the harshness of the impact.

They look the nuts, very high quality and everything you would expect from Gilles.

    check em out...

They look very good actually. Do you have the GB Racing covers on both sides?

Hah, i had GB covers but they use the same bolt holes on the R/H side :( I'm looking at a mod to fix it - will keep you posted.

I do however thing they actually would protect the cases in a slide anyway as the mushrooms mount quite low down..

    Hello Zeepony,
I realise this was quite a while ago, but I was wondering how easy/difficult installation was and whether you had to remove the fairing panel? Have just bought some (really liked the look and the no drill option) and will install this weekend. Instructions seem pretty clear, but you can't beat experience.
    Cheers,
    Paul

Given the problem with plated fasteners that R&G supply with their crash bungs (the original Honda ones are stainless) that protrude out of the engine mounting lugs, corrode and subsequently damage the threads in the engine mounts when being removed the Gilles bungs are a good alternative I think. Thank you for the heads up!
