    Cheers Ray...

I should of said in my op that i wanted to avoid the VCR's, not sure why but have been advised not to use them and go for the standard set which are much cheaper, i will also be getting them from DT here as they have some great deals....

The problem i have though is that my bike is the abs model and i don't want to be messing with break lines, i just want them to bolt on and play/adjust:) However i have two people telling me that the standard set will require some modifications to the break lines as they had the abs and the same issues which is what i need to avoid and i have someone else telling me there is no need for modifications of any sort:(

So im a little confused and was looking for anyone that has these on the abs fitted with or without modifications????

Thanks J it appears that all i need is a break switch, whatever one of those are but Andy can supply and he assures me theres no messing with the brake lines......

Thanks Andy, i shall get some money together over the weekend and pay you guy's a visit....

To be honest Ray i haven't got a clue but presume they look very similar to those, i mainly want them to help with my gear changes and they look extremely good:D

No worries Matt. I am off on Saturday but in all next week. For the ABS Fireblade you can choose either the VCR which are the most expensive or the FX which are the one's that we have been discussing.

    Many thanks

    Andy

The Gilles AS31GT on the Demon Tweeks link do look good but are not the same as the FX one's in Andy's link to Performance Parts?

I like the AS31GT units but not the FX units.

It's the AS31GT units which need a hose extension I think?

So it seems it's either the FX or the £460 VCR's if U want fiting with no hydraulic alterations?

Yes you are correct mate the AS3's do look better but i do like the FX's. I will still have to add the Street Brake Switch which i am reliably informed needs to be soldered, so all i need to do now is see if i can find a cheap soldering machine and learn how to solder:) If i cant then i will put this on hold for now:(

Turns out that soldering looks relatively easy and a soldering iron cost as little as £7:)

You know what mate, i was actually thinking the exact same thing, i presume the, Street Brake Switch is purely for activating the brake light and nothing else and if this is the case then i should be good. I can't remember the last time i ever used the back brake...

So just to confirm with everyone, this Brake switch isn't needed as its only for the brake light remembering this is an abs model?? Of course in years to come when an mot is needed i will the originals back on...

Don't need it yes only works the rear brake light, but you only use the rear brake turning on a tight circle using front will lock up ,not quite sure but think it will still go thru a mot with front brake switch, ask wedgie it's his field iam sure

Matt the problem you have with the rearsets is getting the master cylinder to fit on the abs bikes unless they are fab bed up for it,abs don't have much play with lines behind spar ,I was 30mm short on bomancia rearsets or I would have left abs on 600 for now so I reverted back to conv lines then not a problem. image.jpg
