Off on a trip round Spain soon and would like to fit these to a 2015 Fireblade. The video shows them attached to a CB1000r, anybody any idea if they would or could be fitted on a Fireblade? Thanks in advance.

Doesn't appear to be any info re it fitting a new Blade. I've got the SW Motech panniers on mine & can highly recommend if you're wanting something similar

Yeh, got my eye on the SW Motech too but I do like the way these don't have a strap over the pillion seat. Got a lot of scratches on my old Panigale from that. Is the subframe on a CB1000r the same as the Blade? Guessing this is where they fix to?

Stupid question but if I remove the rear pegs I wouldn't be able to fit the SW Motech planners to the bike?

Yes that's right, the part that you leave fixed on the bike has to go on the rear peg as shown

Motech kit comes with some clear plastic protectors for the rear cover & protects against scratches

Looks good but I would like to remove the rear pegs. I got some Oxford Sport planners, I'll see if they strap round

It's just 2 matching parts that screw together through the gap.

Thanks for the info, still a little concerned about the panniers rubbing on the tail section so went with Kriega US20 in the end.

    Example below...

Kriega is awesome (I use only this) but be careful.... Can be a fucker on ya paint.

And the rubber mat stuff even worse folk use as 'protection'... Specially when wet and covered in grit.... Sliding around

Rentec rail and kreiga best option I've seen as blade seat bends under load and rack stops this and protects.

Never an issue on the r1... Used to just put electrical tape over rear end and that's was fine.... Plus the straps fit to the subframe braces - again not an option on blade.

Don't! I repeat.... Don't! Put gaffa tape on an after market paint job. Take the lacquer straight off that will after two weeks solid on there lol :eek::eek::(

    Totally hear you. Used this...

...under panniers on my last trip on as 1199s Panigale and worked fine until wet. Panniers move about and water/dirt got between the webbing and the bike and rubbed. You can imagine, like a belt sander It's all about securing the luggage down tight and this Kriega stuff looks great for that.

    Will report once fitted...

Webbing stuff is the devil.... See dudes with tail packs sliding around and the webbing flapping in the wind.... I'm not precious about things but even makes me cringe :(

Better off without most of the time IMO

Low tack masking tape on the bodywork cos it ain't gonna look pretty with luggage on anyway.

It's designed to to stop wet paint bleeding so it shouldn't. My mate used to use it all the time and never had a problem whereas I made the mistake of using tank tape ( duct tape) and had real problems removing it after ten days of it being baked on whilst touring.

Usually use masking tape as a base then duct tape on the masking tape, never had any paintwork damage, can take it off when you get to where you are going and reapply when needed.
