    evening all.

I have been offered a new set of Ohlins FGRT 813 forks for £1760... Is this a good price and should I get them? I wasn't planning on buying suspension until next season but because of the price I'm tempted - and I can't find cheaper...

    Do I get them?

Yes, I presume they are coming from that California supplier then.

Fgrt813 are getting rare new as been replaced by the 204's, you could have gotten cheaper from the states a while back but not many new sets kicking about so I would probably go for it

    Thanks for replies gents.

Yes I can't find many of the 813 around now, and although the 204 are a newer better fork, I can't fit Brembos on the 204, plus my riding is good but do I need a better fork than the 813? No!

    Haha.

I don't need any better than the standard forks but still didn't stop me :)

    Yep likewise!

I have to say, the reason I'm toying with this is because I had my suspension set up today and it was unreal how much better the bike behaved - and if the 813 are to make the bike ride even better, well it might just be the best change I've made.

Ride wise it's by far the best thing I did to the bike.

It'll be the first thing I review on any new bike I get.

I can't imagine Ohlins have ever made a set of Forks that can't take Brembo Calipers bask1k?

Brembo M4's fit the 813 - but not the 204 (unless you play around with machining etc) so my homework tells me...

That's the problem Jamie had, he had to get the hpk's
I think its because... M4's have the 5mm spacers built as such, hpk don't, but the 204's have the spacer in the fork so m4's and 204 would be like having a 10mm spacer

Yup as above. You'd need to step up to the HPK's on the newer forks.

I run the M4's on the FGRT 813's

No great hardship then running HPK's or GP4-RX :D

M4's are the Cooking versions so don't spose peeps who can afford the latest Forks would slum it with M4's anyway! [IMG]

And what exactly is wrong with the M4's then??

I doubt very much anyone this side of the paddock could have any complaints about the performance of the M4's

To be honest I'm not good enough to find a problem with the OEM calipers let alone m4's but wouldn't mind them for the bling factor
