In the last couple of months I've been having some motorcycle clothing hilarity. I had a couple of different one-piece suits but this year decided to revert to a twosie so I sold both my onesies and bought a pair of leather duds off eBay with the intention of getting a new jacket to pair with it Trousers arrive. Tight but bearable……so I drive from Teesside to Lincolnshire to visit Sportsbikeshop to get the corresponding jacket (Furygan). Return to Teesside chuffed with my purchase. Try it all on zipped up and it doesn’t fit right at all. I think it’s the trousers so I eBay those (getting about 30% of what I paid for them back ) and order another brand spanking pair the correct size from Sportsbikeshop. They arrive and it still doesn’t fit right so I return the whole lot. Now I’ve got no leathers at all Sportsbikeshop were excellent, just as a side note. Long and the short is that I’ve gone back to Dainese and bought a twosie off eBay but it doesn’t have a cold-weather liner like the Furygan so my question is………*breathes*……..can anyone recommend a warm waterproof jacket that I can take with me on days out to put OVER my leathers if it rains / gets cold
I use the Richa rain warrior jacket and trousers, they have a liner in them so they slide on over your leathers in no time. They roll up small and you can get up to a 5xl so they will even fit over the top of a backpack also they are real cheap. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/33270 http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/33286
Might be worth checking out the Outdoors/Mountain shops at sale time, sometimes better bargains on top class stuff than the m/c clothing places
I bought a pair of large over trousers from mountain warehouse, a 10th of the price of mc stuff and does the same thing!
agree with the jacket as used mine for over 12k miles with no problems at all even used it over leathers just for warmth but the trousers leaked through the crotch after a few months
Try the Rev' it waterproof jackets ... They do a few different versions. Helps massively in the cold / wet. Breathable too.
I use a mountain shop lined mid layer ( the ones like an anorexic puffa jacket) jacket and a slip over Richa rain jacket too. Richa is also great on cool summer mornings. I can get it rolled up enough to fit under the seat cowl for when it gets warm.
