I might be interested..... Can I ask why you are selling? Have you seen a better one and want to change or just really very little use?

Yes, I'd like to think I have one fitted to the bike for the Scotland trip.
Going for the black I think. The wifi and remote appeal.

I'm thinking of getting a 3, understand the Wifi appeal to download the footage without having to physically connect it (smart tv, laptop, pc) but perhaps I'm being thick, why to a smart phone?

Dave, using it linked to a phone etc could have an advantage, I guess? You can do live streams too, But I certainly wouldn't like the idea that MrsB could be sitting on the sofa watching my antics whilst out and about on the I pad though.
It's certainly the wirelessdownloading that appeals to me.

Haven't read the spec, but how do you do live streams to a smartphone or other device via wifi without paying for mobile data usage on the hero 3?

you get an app Dave, you're not being thick it's new technology and it just takes a bit off getting used to. When they come out at the end of November i shall be testing mine ( i have ordered a black model) and will put up a new thread on its performance. The advantage is it's quicker than buying an LCD backpack that only sees what the camera sees then you take the LCD off and stow it as that is its only function, i have ordered the extra battery pack that will go straight on the camera witch gives you a long recording time, you then just line up the camera to its correct position and switch it on as and when needed.

Plus very shortly most comms and technology will be going through your ipad / smartphone (same thing the two of them) AND (this is the scary part) the apps that are around will tell your missus and god knows who else EXACTLY where you are, very soon we will all be number (#) 6 if you are old enough to remember that programme.

    Get all of that mate.

Now understand- to a smart phone for localised access, remote functionality, negate the need for an LCD screen.

Would have to have either a wifi data connection or use the 3G/4G on your pone to transfer over any real distance, either way a paid connection.

Understand the whole technology thing mate, should have explained I'm a head of networks for a very large corporate company who are responsible for LU wifi and TV anywhere. Does still baffle me at times though!

Does anyone on here know of the software that allows you to do picture in picture, i.e merging the footage from a rear facing gopro with the footage from a front facing gopro and have picture in picture? I have seen something like it on youtube used on trackday footage but cant remember what the software was called??

Wasn't meant that way, I'm the one who had to ask several times after all.

If offence was caused, I apologise.
