According to the financial times (as stated in mcn i hasten to add) investindustrial are putting ducati up for sale.
Hay no probs, if someone missed it the first time they will be able to see it. Wonder why they want to sell when it's making money. Or so I read in MCN today ??
Dunno mate. Seems to me business's are now run by accountants, and who the fook knows how they think!? As i'm sure you, and others, have read, the reasoning is (quote) ' ducati is now a perfect company but the further growth it requires needs the support of a world class industrial partner. This year we will work towards that partner'. To me that sounds like 'ok, we bought an almost ok business, turned it into a good money spinner, now lets get rid at a high price before the global economic shit hits the fan and we get lumbered, since we dont give a toss and only wanted to make money.
Think your bang on mate! To be fair though, got to admire their bravery for taking then over in the first place!! Italian car and bike manufacturers aren't the most stable of investments. And they have made ducati the force they are now, in racing and bikes.... So hopefully they will sell to a passionate buyer who only makes the brand stronger. If they make a few quid in the process, good luck to em.
