Speeding today. £203 fine for 41 in a 30. Not sure what the guy who was caught doing 85 in a 30 got, or the bloke being done for dangerous after pulling a wheelie in front of unmaked old bill We live and learn.
Bad times matt, but it's a better way of doing things IMO you mess up, you pay the fine you learn from it, life goes on. Unlike pay fine, get points, do some course to teach you how to ride again, deal with insurance, driving licence in for points, produce documents etc etc
It is a much better way of doing it would rather pay up than score points all very civilised, I was the first this year. 12 others in the queue bit of a production line no messing sign this put your pin in and have a nice stay
I love to see the pictures of the Q's outside the magistrates on a Monday after a weekends looning around the IOM. The police we spoke to were very open about it, they will nail you if they catch you. As said live and learn. Just a few less beers for the next week of festivities Reported there were a few crashes today on the roads? Nothing serious we all hope.
The family I'm staying with know the guy who died this morning, plenty of accidents, roads being closed all the time and its only practice week. Not heard about any other deaths, yet !
agreed I lost a guy I knew quiet well on another forum this weekend. hit a lorry, unsure of details but know he's 25 and has a pregnant partner and one of the reasons I'm siding towards track days more than road riding at the mo
Hi Mate, Really really sorry for the loss of someone you knew, are you talking about the A14 on Monday ? I went over to see my kids on Monday evening so missed the carnage on the way back from our monthly meeting but Ling phoned me and said someone had lost their life and the road was closed so find another route home.
9 accidents with 3 being Fatal....and we are only on Weds of practice week , none of these are from the racing all on open roads Published on Wednesday 30 May 2012 08:20 TWO motorcyclists were killed on open roads yesterday (Tuesday). Around 6.57am a three vehicle road traffic collision happened on the TT course at Cronk-y-Voddy. The collision involved a Dennis refuse collection wagon, a blue and white Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle and a red and white coloured Yamaha R6 motorcycle, which had all been travelling towards Kirk Michael. The bin wagon had stopped. The two following motorcycles have subsequently become involved in a collision, said police. As a result of the collision the rider of the Suzuki motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and the rider of the Yamaha motorcycle was taken to Noble’s Hospital for treatment. The occupants of the bin wagon were uninjured. The road was closed for about eight-and-a-half hours while police carried out enquiries at the scene. Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or remembers seeing any of the vehicles described immediately before the collision. Meanwhile, around 11.30am on Tuesday a two vehicle collision happened at Bulgham on the main Ramsey to Laxey coast road. Involved in the collision was a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle, being ridden by a man from the North East of England and a red Citroen motor car, being driven by a local man, who had his wife travelling with him as passenger. At the time of the collision, the motorcycle was being ridden north, with the car travelling in the direction of Laxey. As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured. The road was closed for approximately six hours while police conducted enquiries at the scene. Police want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision and in particular the occupants of a white car, which was travelling north and that stopped at the collision scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Police Headquarters on 01624 631212.
Sad news... Don't think they will stop the racing, but the days of being able to take your bike over and hoon around must coming to an end... All the above appear to be guys killing themselves on their bikes, but will only take one accident involving a bike at fault and a young family perish then they surely will stop it?
Thanks for the info Shanes. Got held up on the cost road from Laxey to Ramsey yesterday due to that one and got detoured via Peel because of the earlier one. Mountain road closed again this morning due to another rtc, it does make you wonder how much longer it will continue.
