IMG_0773.JPG So after nearly 2 months after my T-bone accident got the Blade back.
Insurance liability still to be sorted but so glad to have the ole steed back

    All brand new fairings,
    new mirrors
    Fork lowers
    new bungs
    pegs
    gear shifter
    bar weights

    It looks brand new!

Just can't decide whether to put all the bling back on?
    eg

    Yoshi
    Brembo RCS/2012 ABS ECU
    PCV/Autotune/POD-300
    Lightechs
    GB covers
    Gear indicator

Looks good. And an Indian summer for the next couple of weeks, so a few rides still to make up for lost time

I'm interested in a couple things, How is the 2012 ABS ECU different from older models? And does the brembo RCS make much difference to the brakes on an ABS?

2012 ABS ecu doesnt suffer from the battery drain flaw after doing a 3 point turn. I also assume the programming is optimised, but cant confirm that, I did notice the rear raising slightly more under hard braking but that is all bum gyro stuff!

Went for a ride this morning on the stock MC and tbh apart from a nicer feel the RCS didn't provide a massive improvement, but like I said it feels 'harder' with shorter travel which is my preference, oh and it looks great!

I thought that would be why with the ECU, I think they updated it from 2011 onwards but not 100%. I know the brembo looks the business! I thought about changing things to mine but the way the ABS works I don't think anything would make much difference apart from the ABS not having to work as hard to do what it needs to do? I will most likely get braided lines anyway for the next full bleed, if only for looks. Have you any experience with different brake pads? I would like to get some sintered pads but again, would they make any difference?

Done! no grazed knuckles, no stripped threads or broken lugs, getting good at this!
Couple of hour and got the following back on

    Yoshi
the dynojet back catalogue fitted (that TPS is still a ball ache!)
    BMC filter
Lightech adjusters on, even had time to fit captive spacers - wheel off and on and chain adjusted in
    15 minutes
    Gilles titanium axle nut
    GB covers
    Updated ABS ECU
    Optimate connectors
    Warrior stand adaptors
    Much better!

Not sure whether I can bothered to drill the fairings for the bungs
RCS will have to wait as a full abs bleed will be needed

    now time to ride!

Got braided lines too, again not much difference unless the originals are degraded.
Used OEM,EBC HH and SBS, OEM and SBS are on a par having nice modulation and bite, prefer SBS as they are much cheaper.

The best way to keep the ABS tip top is to do the full bleed to schedule with mini conventional bleeds and keeping the lever strapped down in the interim. Also clean the buttons and calipers, all bit of a ball ache really.
