Hi I know I am a fairly new member on here, but I used to be in the Celica GT4 owners club and was quite an active member. As a group we used to have group buys ( which I know most of you will know about them ), so I am just seeing if : 1) Has anyone got an interest in being part of a group buy? 2) What do you want from a group buy? Maybe we should start small to see what the interest is and what sort of discount we can get. Just reply : Yes braided hoses ( or what ever you think the group buy should be ) Then we'll have a count up and see which is most popular and try get evrybody to buy as one. Even if YOU didn't want something then you still might be tempted enough to buy just to help the group out. Because when YOU might want a slipper clutch others might buy too !! Regards Clemo
Good idea mate, I'll be after quite a few things in the next couple of months, rearsets,levers, Brembo RCS, screen, Exhaust, Christ its gonna cost a fortune!!!!
A group buy is when you approach a dealer with an order to buy a few of the same item and see if he will give a usefull discount . So post up what you're thinking of buying next and see if there are other members that want one too .. then when you get say 5 of you together you ring the dealers and see if they will discount a decent amount . Lets face it 5 sets of Gilles rearsets would give you serious buying power . Good idea I think
Thanx , lets hope it gets off the ground without to much drama. Just so people know, anyone can be involved in a group buy,don't leave it all to 1 person. the trick is for me to try source prices and also other people to source prices (especially local to you) and see which deal we can get the best 1 at. If i can get my local dealers to knock 20% off purchase for x amount , but someone can get a better deal then thats the one we roll with.
The tricky bit is sorting out postage. If they are sent to where the most people are and picked up, then costs are less.

Best regards....... so save £39 a set for 10 buyers. TBH i was expecting a bit better maybe £180 ,but i am tight lol !!!
I don't need any but have done Group buys from kriega and bought a R25 for a good price via Pistonheads. At the mo I feel for me the best group buys for me would be tyres. Always come in handy and getting discount is even better reason to get a few more tyres.

Dan, you going to see if they do gold inserts?? Wouldn't mind a set myself, but i've been looking at SES or Gilles VCR.
It does actually say on the listing that you can have gold inserts . im gonna ask if they have pics .. gold would look really nice on black but id need to see the silver first
