I'm racing a 2011 blade this year and have just realised I know very little about it and it's spec!?

Does it come with any gizmos as standard, slipper clutch, any tips a tricks to improve it at all without spending a fortune etc.... .??

Any help or pointers at all would be appreciated. I'm pretty clued up mechanically and love the tech talk, so fire away! :)

It does have a slipper clutch. a ohlins rear shock would be a good place to start

It has a slipper clutch but thats your lot gizmo wise . Its a well balanced bike and as most will say " TT riders weapon of choice "

Biggest performance improvements iv done are

decat slipon exhaust ........... tottally overcome the known flatspot at 3k odd revs

Light weight wheels............ lightened and sped up handling

Acossato master cylinder ( front ) ........ along with Goodrich lines + Braking wavy discs made braking awesome

Ive just brought an HRC shock for it although I'm a little worried its not arrived yet!

I'm running racetec's on it and have a slip on pipe and powercommander, it's smooth and fast all the way through to red line.

But I'm more interested in what they have as standard. Is the slipper clutch activated straight from the shop, or do I need to do something to it, as it didnt really feel as though it was slipping when I raced at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago!? (and yes, I know what a slipper should feel like ;) )

Still running stock discs but with goodridge lines and sbs dual carbon race pads.

I have a pair or Marchesini magnesium wheels on my ZXR750, might end up putting them on the blade!

The slipper clutch will be working its just that good you dont notice it. it certainly wont hurt to put the light wheels on

It has an electronic steering damper. Best mod is a change of gearing!

    What is standard gearing?

    It's had a 520 conversion, running 15/45 I think!?

I take it they don't have any kind of traction control as standard then?

It's had gearing change as stock is 42 rear

HRC quick action throttle for you if you don't have it, would make a difference racing as would a hm quickshifter :)

Got a quick action throttle too.

Racing with Bemsee in the rookie 1000 class, and most probably try my luck in the all comers open class t Cadwell.
