I know i know, these are for motorcross bikes and will look pretty shitty on a blade - but does anyone know if you can fit such a thing on a 2011 blade? On the motorways the wind chill coming through the gloves is unbearable and even with heated grips it kills the finger tips so I'm looking for some solution which avoids the even worse looking bar muffs! Just a little bracket with some sculpted plastic would do i guess to shield the wind?
Bloody good point Zee. I'm sure there's a market there for someone with a bit of design nonce so it didn't look to crap. I don't care how cold the rest of me gets but I can't bear cold hands. I had heated grips once but they don't warm right through. Nutty uses Klan heated gloves run off her Optimate connector and I'm seriously thinking of looking down that route myself.
I know the feeling I'm sure there must be some variant one can mod with relative ease. perhaps this is another possible route..? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCL...ycle_Parts&hash=item336dd1274b#ht_1717wt_1066
Heres some ideas.. And I thought you would want these trafic buster Rizoma lever gaurds for the close contact work run in town now used in Moto2..lol I used to have these Acerbis ones on my DRZ-SM in the winter they were good, dont know that they could be fitted to a RR10? :S
Hmm, the rizoma things look like you might be able to mount something on them - probably flap around a bit but its a good and clean start!
Fooks sake Chris. Harden the fook up!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unkIVvjZc9Y&feature=player_detailpage
I was gonna say you can those mitt things but Arthur beat me to it . The motocross ones in the third pic may bend back under wind pressure but if the polisport ones are the same as what i had on my DRZ then they are probably the best set as they bolt in place of your bar ends and clamp onto the bars as well These are cool
I run R&G heated grips for the winter. Brush guards aren't gonna fit and look right TBH. Those muffs will do the trick though if you want to deflect the wind and be able to remove them when parked up.
Deffo get yurself some Klan gloves or one of the other makes ... warm as toast for as long as you like
Ok, here's an "out of the box suggestion".. What if i made a glove modification rather than a bar or bike mod, that way its easier to take on and off and you dont have to park your bike with stupid flappy muffs on. So imagine the principle of a knuckle duster (stay with me..) but instead of pain educing spikes, mount a plastic guard which runs along the fingers - you could use elastic around the palm and a simple plastic plate over the face.. a bit like this aptly named "Nancy" ring.. but instead of nancy, its wind protection for the Nancies! BTW, i own all patents and copyright for this concept
I have and used on the Speed triple these Motorcycle Parts - ACERBIS Dual Road Hand Guards They did a great job of keeping the cold wind from my hands. As the speed triple was unfiared it was very windy but finding the fairing on the 11 blade much better and keeping my hands away from the cold wind chill. if you want universal fit hand guards these really do a great job
