I would Guess a letter through the post, if it was a hand held speed gun.

fingers crossed for you in the next 13 days,

By post within 14 days as long as the vehicle is registered to you. Otherwise they have more or less as much time as they want, as long as they can prove they attempted to trace the driver / owner within 14 days of the 'offence'.
One thing to note, or two....
1: For any speed detection equipment to be used, there has to be camera warning signs.
2: All personel and equipment must be clearly identified, mobile camera users stood at the roadside must be highly visible.
Failure to comply is classed as entrapment.
Good luck mate, but at the end of the day the bastards want as much revenue as they can get. All because we have killed off manufacturing, apart from rules and regs.
Oh, and because jimmy carr dodged his tax bill.

Depends what ya mean by low 80's. Usual guideline, dependant on chief cuntstable, is 10% +2, so 79mph before they tax you. If your speedo was showing 82, chances are you were doing 78/9???? Maybe a glimmer of hope for ya there...???

Well yeah, working in Manchester is punishment enough. I'd only work there if I was in the Luftwaffe.

As Slowr1der says, they are looking for top speed merchants, IMO you wouldn't have fallen into their target speed, they leave that for the fixed cameras.
Chances are if it was hand held he would have had a companion mobile on the same road doing the pulling there and then.
Chin up mate, dont let it hang over you. Think positive. ;)

My feeling is that you will be ok .I think the speed gun is for 100+ and as there will be a few miles to the next junction the cop can get in his car and have his fun so chill out dude.
