Many of us try to save a little weight here and there by buying lighter sprockets, batteries and other assorted whatnot but why when many of us could easily shift 10 pounds off ourselves for nowt if we were really that bothered :D

I put on a lot last year due in part to my hernia stopping me from vigorous exercise, now the consultant wants me to lose weight.....I had to mention that if they had sorted my hernia out when I was 13 st last year I would not now be 16 st :)

Already on diet and have lost 9 lb in two weeks. Basically I am on a low carb diet. No potatoes, rice , bread, pasta, root vegetables or milk. But I can eat meat, eggs, cheese and most green vegetables and salad, but not tomatoes.

I find a big difference between riding my bike at 13 st and 16 st :) and not just my stomach on the tank lol

I always visit the little boys room for 10 minutes before donning the leathers, an old MCN tucked under my arm can serve two distinct purposes in such a situation. A Viz top tip for you.

On a good day I can shed the weight of the rear pegs before I mount up.

Boys and Girls…Its simple, you want to drop some weight and lose the belly and love handles just don’t eat any carbohydrates for a few weeks. After slipping that disc last year and the Christmas over indulgence I put on a stone I didn’t need, I was having to breathe in just to do up my trousers and there was no way I could get back into my 1 piece leathers come spring. I have almost lost almost everything I put on by just not eating, potatoes, pasta, rice, bread etc. Eat as much meat and vegetables as you like, and the weight drops off. The down side is I am starting to dream about chips with the vinegar on first then the salt mmmmmm.

Yeah, you have to put the vinegar on first..........

Ash, be careful of the kitten analogy. Bert put me in A&E when he was about 7 weeks old by launching himself from behind the laundry basket and sinking his needle like teeth into my bare ankle, sending me headlong into the bathroom sink hard enough to break a rib, the little bastard.

Booze is a huge factor. I think some people often think it's little more than water but have a read of this.

Alcohol is made by fermenting and distilling natural starch and sugar. This means that lager can contain a lot of calories. For instance, two pints can contain the same calories as a steak pie. Lager, like any kind of alcohol, can stimulate the appetite and make calorific post-pub fare like kebabs and chips look really appealing.
