I know it's been raised before but this bloody heat shield is driving me mad. The bottom of the carbon yoshi can is about 1mm away from the link pipe. Is this normal? I just can't see any other way that it will line up without the carbon fibre being so close to the link pipe. It isn't touching but is so close. Bit worried it will melt?

I'm still in the garage contemplating phoning in sick tomorrow so I can sort this pipe out! Driving me mad. It's 1-2 mm away as per pic. Heat shield lines up ok now but this gap concerns me. I did take the bike out for half hr came back and checked it and seemed fine.

go to sleep mate! it will be fine. just went out to take a piccie.

Mine been used in commuting environments, 35+ ambient, engine running at 108 in stationary traffic, balls actually melting onto the saddle and no ill affects (apart from the 2 boys being cooked)
