Rode my mates s1000rr and it wasnt the warmest day and got to say how nice it was with them on, i cant get on with thick gloves get no feel on the brake lever and since getting the bike out from end of feb my hands have been cold most times when riding.
Done a few review checks and the R&G ones come out good and at £36 not a bad price? anyone else have these fitted??

Gay - unless you can certify you have used the bike in each calendar week of the year.

    Buy thicker gloves

I can't ride with thick gloves on either. But If I'm out and my hands get cold I stop at a garage and but some of the free plastic gloves (that you find at the diesel pumps) under my summer gloves. Simples!

Buncha fair weather riders, you lot!!!

I have them on mine!! Came with the bike, Oxford ones, but what I like about them, (apart from keeping my thick, crab claw gloves nice and toasty) is that they are the sport grips which are thicker than standard.

Saving grace is that people are so busy ogling the rest of the HRC bodywork, that they don't even notice the heated grips. Or the sat nav... ;)

Than again, I have only left the bike home 2 days this winter. A Monday and a Thursday that I got snowed in... Yes my bike is getting soaked outside work right now, and is muddy and dirty from road muck!!!

Having ridden at minus 12 at motorway speeds....it didn't matter how gay they were - I would have given my frozen left nut to have both heated grips and muffs fitted. It was one of the most painful things i've ever experienced.

Had them on the Ducati and they were a damned sight better than nothing at all in the dead of winter, but...

There is the odd sensation, when it's really cold, of them heating the palm and inside of your fingers, but the outside still being bleedin'g uncomfortable.

A bit like a baked alaska.

    Silk underthings! Come on....

    tights and lipbalm maybe, but...

I rode the motorway to Silverstone in November at 2 degrees at 5 in the morning without em, and yes, very painfull... And a catch-22... Do I ride faster to get the ride over quicker while colder from wind flow, or slow down and be in a little less pain for a lot longer?? I went for the faster choice... I can't imagine negative temperatures!!!

Mine came with a set fitted but i've never taken any notice of what make they are.
I've used them a few times when it's been icy cold and they made a whole world of difference.
I've got to say it not something I would have thought about fitting to a sportsbike myself.

Personally I shan't be fitting heated grips. As my bike is my hobby/past time/recreation. What ever you wish to call it. Anything pertaining to cold or wet conditions? And it stays under the cover. Which I'm sad to say In This country is more often than not. I knew the risk when I bought it and am still very happy with my decision when I spew it because of the weather. I have done my time getting soaked and having to stop and put gloved hands on exhaust just trying to get some feeling back!

So heated grips. If you got a use for them? Get em fitted. :)

You take our Blackpool weather all wrong Ken.
And to disprove your myth I enclose a picture of me working during last summer out on the promenade. :D
