    evening all

i have decided to put heated grips on this winter and have read all the post about them on here but was wondering how some of you with the newer versions have got on with them? have there been problems? also would i be right in thinking the sports versions are softer grips?

    cheers

I had a pair of older Oxfords on my Hornet. Just about lasted 4 years. (50k miles)
It wasn't the grip that failed in the end but the wire on the throttle side degraded due to the constant movement.

Was thinking about oxford sport grips but have read they have had problems with the control box but I also like the look and tidyness of the datatool but as they are new didnt know if any problems have shown up with them

For me the daddios are the Honda OEM, had them on my CB1000R, did about 20k on them - brilliant!. I probably will get Datatool ones this time but there have been comments also about the switches failing:confused:. Saying that I commuted last winter without the need for grips, its the first faired bike I've owned I it affords I lot more protection from the cold than my previous nakeds!

Glad you said Oxfords then . Right I am on my 3rd set in 5 years now, I use them all year on my bike. The earlier versions with the two box design which had the electronics in the box not the control unit were fairly robust, but not without fault, I had two failures but were replaced under warranty and were good, lasted around 23.K miles. I am now on my 3 rd version which is the newer one with the single control box and modified electronics that automatically detect current flow so no need to connect to a relay or ignition supply. 24K later and they are still working fine. and are worth every penny in my opinion. I have the sports grip version.
