    Quick request here - friend has moved into a rented property which has this ancient time clock (which is also really noisy) and she has no idea how to work it.

    Cannot find any instructions on the net / manufacturers page

    Also anyone know what it could be replaced with (without vast cost, subject to owners approval)

    Most C/H Timeclocks are 2 or 3 wire units.

    Two wires are just a live supply with a 'Demand' feed/trigger back to the Boiler.

    3 Wires usually have a Neutral so then a 'Mains Powered' controller can be used.

    Hot Water control will have a 4th wire.

    (All above is ignoring an Earth core, which may or may not be present!)

    £35-80 depending on unit chosen.

    Piece of Piss, even 4 U Al! ;)
