    Hi all,
I recently joined and had a warm welcome (thank you).
I have recently acquired an rr6 red/black totally standard, this is my 1st blade and have enjoyed my minimal amount of time riding the bike.
As my brakes are ###p I went along and bought some braided hel lines to fit and improve performance of the brakes, will get these fitted soon. I also noticed that they are supplying calipers now for bikes, has anybody tried these as I'm looking for feedback on them, tempted to purchase a set.
Also I am just wandering if there is a member online who supplies to the group with discounted rates, as I'm thinking of going direct and see if I can arrange something for all the members to benefit. And I don't want to step on anybody's toes in the process.

Sorry if i posted in the wrong section

    Hi Sparky and welcome.

The RR6s are fantastic bikes but the brakes tend to be quite spongy regardless of how well bled they are (in my experience). This is mostly down to the standard Nissin brake master cylinder and the standard rubber lines.

If you fit a Brembo 19RCS master cylinder along with your Hel lines you'll notice a world of difference. Upgraded calipers are great too but unless you are competing in racing you'll not notice much, if any benefit.

Some people fit them for the bling factor, which is fine but the master cylinder is key along with good pads and good lines.

I went with the HEL brake lines and sintered pads on my RR8, and it works great. This combination gives you most bang for buck imo.

Having just seen the price, you can get a set of Brembos for a lot less than that.

As others have said, decent pads plus braided hoses will improve feel. 19RCS will take you up a notch and you'll probably be satisfied.

I went the whole 9 yards and replaced the calipers with Brembos, braided lines and a 19RCS because f*ck it :D

Interesting. I have a 2009 blade with braided Hel lines and ASV levers. I have just had a look on eBay and Brembo master cylinders ( about £250). They come with a lever and no fluid cylinder. I don't get it. Does one have to buy a new clutch lever to match and reuse the original plastic Honda cylinder for the brake fluid?

So, they *used* to make a matching clutch perch, although not sure that is the case anymore. You can get the matching clutch lever.

I have ASVs on my bike but will be losing them with the RCS and clutch perch.

You can reuse the OEM reservoir but you'll need a different bracket. The Ladybird bracket works with the OEM reservoir. You have to buy the Brembo reservoir/bracket kit separately.
