    Hi

Does anyone store their riding gear in the garage? I've bought a helmet shelf and I'm thinking of putting it up in the garage but will the gear go damp?
Might just put it up in the bedroom without telling the missus.

    Cheers Gary

I kept my Biker Tidy for a little while in the garage but some leather pants started getting mold on. I've moved the lot up to the spare bedroom now. If you've no heating in the garage I'd put it in the bedroom :D

Yeah it'll all grow fur and smell like a damp dog in no time!

All my gear is stored in a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms but the Mrs is trying to get me to keep it in the loft conversion so it doesn't interfere with her shoe collection !!! o_O

Mine are in my shed, got good ventilation tho and no damp at all. Helmet in its bag and leathers in a storage bag not had any issues at all. Boots are in their box on a shelf and gloves are in with leathers. That said tho I don't ride in bad weather so never been wet or dirty apart from dead

Had a problem with mice in my garage so certainly wouldn't want to keep gear in there, spare bedroom wardrobe for bike gear, leathers ;) and helmets etc

Can you use packets of that silicon stuff and put that in the box, then store it in the garage ?

Might need industrial amounts of it though :D

'Biketidy' kept indoors for me too. Wouldn't risk putting my gear in a garage, unless it was heated.

Must admit my shed also has a gym in it so it's frequently warmed up and fresh air circulated. Wouldn't chance it if they were being left all winter. Don't even get condensation on my bike

You do realise that the hoover doesn't kill the spiders........they breed inside........& then thousands of babies crawl out & probably head straight for your warm shed :D

for all you folks who keep cycle helmets out in the garage/shed :D

Mind you.....might make your spindly lycra legs go a bit faster so you're not clogging the fecking roads up

Get real @Lozzy. That's not a friggin' spider, it's a kids's attempt at copying the Marquez logo, which, I must correct you does NOT clog roads, it has the same power co-efficient as the HRC decal!!

... Had to use baby wipes after finding little furry patches in the helmet. Condensation or sweat from last time it was used. I’d advise indoors unless garage is completely damp free.
