I trashed my very nice Xlite 802R, it really was a nice lid, it was light weight, comefortable with a simple to remove the visor and had the benefit of the chin cover intetraged into the comefortable lining. It also benefitted from convenient lugole spaces perfectly sized to accept itercom speakers.

It really has been quite a while since I shopped for helmets, just wondering if there are any standout options worth considering.

I'd go for the same you just don't realise how light they are until you feel the weight of a standard helmet.

Having surveyed some options today I may well get another it seems reasonably priced compared to many others.

Did the helmet just graze something, or was it banged on the ground? If its just a graze, you could re-clearcoat it.

I have a Shoei GT Air 2, and really like it. I needed the drop down visor.

Agree here. I took a slide rather than a knock a few years back and grazed the surface of the lid but I used it for ages afterwards. I was of the understanding that it needed a decent fall knock bang to become redundant.

I dropped my x lite 803 ultra carbon on the driveway while hanging it on the mirror of my bike and didn't want to wear it again so I bought the same helmet in a different colour, I've had quite a few helmets but nothing else has ever felt as comfortable. It's not in very good shape with pretty severe scrapes all accross one side into the carbon layers.
    New lid time.

    Oooh that's pretty !

Don't you just hate that expensively haunting sounding donk as the lid trashes it's self on concrete. My replacement the x lite 803 arrived today, I opted for un painted again.

I could have cried when I happened, it's not the first time I've done it either, I dropped a brand new helmet that I had on for the first time :(
