Time for a new lid and having a look round at various things, lots of prior year models with good discounts off which got me thinking, if you are supposed to change your lid every 5 years how is this effected if you buy a 2012 design today. Does that mean that this will only be good for 3 years? I was led to believe its age, paint and UV that cause the deterioration or ami missing something?
Any decent lid wil have the date of manufacture on it, sometimes you'll need to remove the lining to see it. Once it's been exposed to the elements you can start counting the years till replacing it, unless it's been stored somewhere with major temperature changes or damp you will be fine buying a 2012 model as long as it's been kept in the box and in a stockroom.
