As the title suggests I need a bit of help, I find that my incredibly long legs seem to be really uncomfortable and I could do with an extra inch or so (I know we could all do with an extra inch!!!). Money is a bit tight at the min so buying a new set of rear sets is out of the question. I believe there are plates available that allow you to drop the position of the footrest and move it back a bit, has anyone got any experience of such a thing? Or can anyone offer any advice on an alternative method? I have got a 2010 1000rr, just in case this effects the mod in anyway. All help and advice would be much appreciated, a cheap second hand set of adjustable rear set would be even more appreciated and endebted for ever!!

I made my own mate, down 3" and forward 2". Needed to mod brakeswitch bracket and gear change rod. How much movement would be best for you? I made a wooden pattern, bolted to frame with bolts for footrests. Once position was ideal , I made em outta 3/8" ally. PM yer number for a chat?

Hi megawatt, not quite sure how much movement I need but I didn't think I could get away with as much 3"! That amount of movement would be great, although I would probably need to go backwards with the pegs opposed to forwards like yourself, but until I tried it I could be wrong! I could do with picking your brains a bit more. If possible could you give me a call tomorrow afternoon, but if I don't answer I will probably be driving the fire engine and I will call you back. I will PM you my number. Thanks again mate.

PMd ya back mate. I have dodgy knees, so moved my footrests to same position as my 1200 Bandit. You can buy kits , but they tend to be less than 1 1/2" movement and usually up and back. Speak soon, Alan.

Only problem you get with Jack up/down plates for original footrests on the 08> blades it that you also need a longer shift rod and a bracket for the exhaust, as the exhaust attaches to the original footrest.

Can you post pix of your set up Lee, especially things that might get in the way and exhaust bracket? Most things are sortable.

The exhaust bracket should be easy enough mate. 3mm stainless plate with 2 holes in it to suit difference in pitch from standard. Also shift rod would only need extended roughly an inch, you can do this with some hex bar with a tapped hole inside. I've already done a design for the Jack up/down plates megs.

This is all sounding pretty positive fellas, much appreciated! (apart from the part when Colin started on about 'hex bar', I'm sure it will all become apparent). Thanks again.
