Guys, i'm just about to buy a "N" reg cbr 600 for a ridiculously low price. How the hell can i tell if its a FN, FS, FR, etc? Does anyone know of a site which will tell me the frame prefixes for the different models?

    Cheers

Tried that one, it doesnt have the details for that VIN plate on record, despite it matching the V5 and all MOT's.

    I've bought it anyway.

Er.... cheap, cheap enough for me to get it through the MOT (needs nowt as far as i can see) and sell it on for a fair price and make a nice little profit.

If i ride it and i like it, i'm going to keep it for a bit, throw some cash at the suspension and take it to Spain this year. Should be more suited to the roads than my Blade. Should be able to get back what i spend on it when i sell it in July.

Ideal I quite fancy something similar for a commuter.

N reg is 95 so will be a late reg f2 (fn) or an fs (f3)

The easiest way to tell is the shape of the rear as it changed between those years.

Also replied to your other post.

The sticker under the rear seat should tell you the model code.

By the way, it was first registered in March '96, but that doesnt mean it couldnt be an early FT or a late FS, i doubt it would be an F2.

But im sure you lot will help out in ID on Saturday.
