    Hello,

My mate had a problem with his blade. When he was out riding the bike suddenly lost gauges, and the engine started to pop / making banging noises. He stopped and found out that these wires where burnt.

Question is, what wires are these? Having replaced the engine in one of my own bikes i am suprised that i don't recognise these....

    Anyone?

I'd say that's the 3 phase wiring from the stator.

The pop was probably fuel igniting in the housing

Looks like the wires have been pulled from their connectors,
I'm not that familiar with the non ABSs, but for the ABSs the connector between the stator and RR sit under the tank.

actually it looks like the stator has been replaced and instead of routing back to the connector the new one just spliced in?

He noticed some burning on the wires, what can cause this? Expensive? Replace whole stator?

Without seeing directly I can only assume the the wires were cut and spliced back and at some point shorted. If the stator is burnt up a replacement isabout 250-300, rewinding is about 120
