I went out for a spin this afternoon, the bike had not been run for a few weeks, but started first time no problems. Rode about 80 miles, stopped for about 10 mins, bike wouldn't start:eek:. Everything lit up as normal, dash, lights all at usual brightness, push the button engine turn a couple of times, everything went off Clicking from under the seat( solenoid?), everything lit back up as soon a button released.Bump started no problem. Put bike on optimiser when I got home, doesn't seem to want to charge. Red light flashes on optimiser. Is it my battery knackered or could it possibly be the regulator/rectifier. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a battery issue, especially this time of the year, if you have an SG meter you can check all the cells and see what's going on.... Hope that helps..

Take it in the house where it's warm and show it some love & a charger, before taking it to a garage to get a meter on it to test it properly.

Sounds like battery. Similar thing happened to me last year. Got a trickle charger from hein gericke and fitted it to battery with connector in seat cowl and keep it charged if I'm not using it for more than a week

Thanks for your replies, got it sorted. Was the battery, got a new one. Then managed to eventually recover the old one using a basic 30 year old charger, Cheers.
