Replacing Repsol fairing on my 2013 Blade with Chinese fairinings in this years Repsol Gp colours. The side panels etc are all off and all that remains is the top fairing, hanging with everything off.

I have disconnected all the air pressure sensor hoses and the 3 main power/input plastic connectors beneath the left side air duct but I still can't get the whole headlight/top fairing assembly to come free from the bike. There is 1 feed to a plastic unit located at the base of the v in the screen and I have no idea how to disconnect this. I have also tried undoing the 2 screws that secure the headlight unit to the top fairing but unless I am missing another hidden screw I can't seem to pry the headlight unit (which would include the only feed I can't undo as mentioned above) away from the top fairing. I don't want to snap anything. Anybody done this before, what am I missing.... Chinese fairings from auctmarts -tank, tailpiece and infill panels all gone on pretty easily and very happy so far, now just the fairings. Have walked away several times in frustration . Help ......

Hi mate have you taken the bits fixed to the inner nose cowl off their rubber fittings yet? I recently did my nose and side fairing and there are a two items in rubber mounts to remove and a screw from the bottom. Have you separated the nose from the headlight yet or still together?

know its not a 2013 bike but look over my fairing swap thread - may help

I know there is a multi plug on the back of the clocks, and on the older one velcro mushrooms held the side panels onto the headlamp - you had to be brutal and pull side panel off.

just trying to think of anything else I have to undo - the screen screws / mirrors all help and a dome nut at the side of the air duct panels

Best thing is to post up some pics quickly of what you have left in place.

As others say there used to be a panel under the headlamp which linked to the side panels which had to be undone

I did this earlier this year and from what I can remember there is a screw in the centre underneath. Does the new front fairing give you any clues as to where the fixings might be? I didn't totally remove the headlights, wiring, pipes etc. from the bike - just fitted the front fairing to it.

You removed the lower plastic cover to reveal the mount screws

I have not removed the nose from the headlight yet. Will try again tomorrow . The 2 items in rubber mounts where are they and the screw in the bottom does this keep the headlight fixed to the nose or are u talking about the plastic cover above the mudguard which has a small screw?

Thanks guys for replies so far, the 2012/13 fairing is different from the earlier ones .

Hi mate the screw underneath holds the bottom of the nose in place so needs to come out also the parts fixed inside the nose need releasing. I think it's easier to remove the nose from the lights then also release the lights separately as they have a couple of fixings plus the plastic dows that hold them in place. If you take pics of any areas you are unsure of I can identify from memory. Failing that I am fitting my full exhaust Saturday so can look at mine and identify the bits for you if still struggling.

Tonight is lady night and for Marty's benefit that doesn't mean I'm wearing a dress, lillywhite understands :D

Ps perverts you and rich are Marty!!

My reply earlier does relate to the 2012 model. From what I remember there is a screw in the centre underneath that joins the nose to the headlight - can you see the plastic tab for this on the new nose cone?

I might retire for the evening as I'm spending more time editing my posts than writing them.... Not at all to do with alcohol consumption, nope
