Right been out on the blade today first time with leo vince on! So thats leo vince gp pro no db killer pcv and k&n ive done 220 miles and its cut out on me during down shifting ie pulling in clutch clicking down letting out real slow just the way i ride alot to be smooth and yes i know its got a slipper clutch!! But it shit me right up on the brakes down shifting down hill in lakes and bang oil light on wtf shit where is the noise aarrgghh its stalled!! I am thinking somert on the map maybe? cheers
There is alot about this same fault on he US site Have you checked the battery terminals are tight/good connection? When I fitted my PCV I used slightly longer bolts for the battery terminals as they weren't long enough (optimiser and PCV fitted to battery) A differed exhaust wouldn't cause this it seems electrical.
hmmm i will check them asap! But yeah good point! but i would of thought a bad connection would be more than 3 times in 220 miles! also when i had standard can with pcv and k&n it was fine.... cheers mate
There is a micro switch on the clutch lever and on side stand. Just check they're working. I had a zx6 a few years back and it used to cut out due to a sidestand switch.
I had connected my PCV negative wire to the battery and always overtighten if anything! Mine was loose when I came to changing maps 3 days later :-S
Fitting a longer bolt works much better. The standard ones are too short if you fit accessories to the battery. Can always pack it out with washers if it's slightly too long.
At least use a spanner to tweak it rather than a screw driver... then again.... your problem might not be anything to do with loose terminals, but we are talking Honda reliability here so it probably is something that simple!!!
I know where your coming from mr! I have never had a prob with a honda bike end of! But will defo be having a peek into it
Right all connections checked and correct and me earth is spot on ie tight! SO ive emailed dynojet uk and he want me to run it on a ZERO map ie like its not on no fueling change from standard! then if problem aint there its the leo slip on non baffle map at fault! Just off out now to check it
Have you set the speed calibration and gear calibration doobry!? I'm not sure if this only applies if you use the autotune module or what?? Does anyone know how I can completely reset the PCV so I can then reload the map I want from scratch.... this time I will leave the other settings well alone to see if this helps?
Only need all that if you have a map with multiple tables for certain maps in certain gears etc Have you got the latest firmware on it?
Sorry for Hijacking ur thread btw Bats! Keep us posted how you get on! Latest firmware is on there... Any idea how I remove all the gear and speed calibration info and get it back to standard?
Just open a map from the list of downloaded or ones on CD then just click 'send table'. I would expect there is a factory reset option on the software too. can't get to my laptop to check though. If you haven't wired up the speedo and rpm wires from the main harness to the PCV it won't have made any difference anyway.
Mine done this the first time i took it out with the power commander on. Hasnt done it for 900 miles since although i am running a different pipe and map now Ill be interested in what Dynojet come back with
Well so far they have said that the map file has been checked and its fine!and sent me the same map to load again as it mayu have been corrupt! will try it on sunday
Right finally tested the bike shit weather!! 700 mile holiday in scotland and yes it rained! Well looks like the problem was a conflict in the map file as i re-downloaded and installed then did scotland and it never cut out once Just need the maxton fork re valve etc now and to dream of a maxton rear shock O YEAH!!
Hiya Bats, this post caught my eye, late I know but I had a Pipe Werx race GP3 can and PCV fitted to my RR8 last year and dyno'd by a guy that was little experienced in remapping - result was bike ran like a bag of sh!te :-( Among other things it kept cutting out when I pulled the clutch in when changing down (yeah, unnerving!) I kept taking it back for him to re-adjust the map (I was used as a bit of a guinea pig as he was new to it) all the probs including the cutting out was each time getting better, After taking it back about 12 times :-/ it was sorted and it never cutout again.
