Hope someone can help with this.

After starting the bike up ( 08 Blade ) the yellow M.I.L light comes on and does 2 long flashes in a repeat cycle, the engine stills runs and there doesn't appear to be any erratic idle or other noticeable differences to the running engine. Spoke to honda and as usual very helpful but i need to book it in @ £50 an hr to run a diagnostic on it and fix. So before i bite the bullet does anyone have any ideas to this error code...........thanks.......

Thats MIL code 20 (two long flashes, each long flash is 10) Odd thing is I do not have code 20...? You could try and reset the MIL code?

Its not super simple, best download the service book if you can find it, I think there is one on here (anybody?)

This is how... tbh I don't see why the dealer can't help and plug up for you free...thats how its should be!

To clear the MIL without HOS (Honda diag unit), use to the following procedure.
How to clear the OTC with SCS (wire link) connector
    1. Remove the seat.
    2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    3. Make sure the engine stop switch is turned to "0".
Remove the dummy connector and short the Brown and Green wire
    terminals.
    Connection: Brown - Green
    4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5. Remove the link.
    6. The MIL will light for approximately 5 seconds. While the MIL lights,
    short the terminals again.
The self diagnostic memory is erased if the malfunction indicator goes off and starts blinking.
    NOTE:
    • The OLC must be jumped while the MIL is illuminated. If not, the MIL will not start blinking.
    • Note that the self-diagnostic memory cannot be erased if the ignition switch is turned OFF before the MIL starts blinking.

Well the problem is sorted. The vaccum hose that connects to the MAP sensor came off when the tank was pushed back in place, so my advice to anyone who removes their tank at any time is replace it carefully as it's quite crowded under there when you lower the tank..

Sounds like the MIL code was actually two short blinks then (0.5 secs each).
