Can anyone help and identify where this connector should go ?

I had the bike stripped down to replace the top fairing and get the forks serviced and when putting it all back together there is a large electrical connector that I m not sure is in the correct position as A) it's exposed to water from the front wheel & B) could obstruct the steering movement as the fork stanchion passes past it.

Here's a photo of the connector taken looking up from the front wheel.

Its on the left hand side of the bike.

I m thinking perhaps it should sit behind the infill panel that covers the gap between the front left hand edge of the radiator and the left middle fairing panel as this would protect it from the elements and keep it clear of the forks when turning. The only thing that makes me think this is not correct is you would have to remove the infill panel before removing the middle fairing otherwise the connector would be trapped sandwiched between the two and not allow complete removal of the middle fairing and when normally removing the middle fairing I leave this infill panel attached.

I m probaly being stupid but all help is apprpeciated. Thanks !!!!!!!!!

Arthur should be able to tell you as my bike has all the fairings and nose cone off so the connectors should be visible

Its gotta sit under the air ducts behind the inner fairing .. I had mine of a few weeks ago but i didnt dis connect the wiring so they must have been tucked up in there somewhere

Is there a rubber around it with a slot in to attach it to the fairing ? If so you need to locate the tab it slots on to
