Hello all, I have a CBR1000RR 2004, had it from new, had a 929 from new before that....retired from MX last century sometime, still have a crosser but I'm too old to do more than play on it....the Blade is trashed from a crash at Ty Croes track a couple of years ago, but a rebuild has started The engine (full Arrows, PC111, FW map) and chassis (KAIS revalves and springs front and rear) are fine, but most of the bits that hang on to it are are trashed.... I'm a quarter of the way through the work, but at the stage where it all seems a bit daunting...I'm part way through fitting a Sigma slipper clutch (awaiting new springs), servicing the Arrows can (trying to source original packing insert), fitting a 2006 black swing-arm, some nice rear sets off Ebay, Renthal clip-ons and grips have just taken root on the bike.....and a whole bunch of other stuff, fairings to follow...... Leathers and helmet came second to fast moving tarmac too, got some nice stuff from Arlen Ness and Alpinestars though I'm hoping for a late summer I will have a couple of technical questions at some stage.......
Wotcha Scouser. Any minute now you're gonna get nagged to post some pictures of your bike and especially the rebuild. Sounds a helluva project dude. Cheers Ken
hi and welcome to the forum, sounds like an epic task but it will all be worth it i am sure pics please
Hi there mate and welcome, why not start a thread of the rebuild as you go along, would be great to see how it comes along www.fbimagery.co.uk THE Specialists in Motorcycle Paintwork
Hi Scouser and welcome, good luck with the build. There are plenty on here who can give good advice, unfortunately I am not one of them. I just like to ride my Blade and leave the mechanical stuff to those that know how to do it. Well i don't want to kill myself
Welcome mate, sound bunch here and if they can't answer your tech questions then it probably ain't worth askin. Best of luck with the rebuild and pics are a statutory requirement ...
......thanks for the great welcome, seems quite a popular site Just a bit more about me in case I meet any of you....... I live on The Moss, between Formby and The Scarisbrick Arms pub, on the B5195. It is a popular biking road, lots of twists and turns, and not too far from the Wednesday bike meet at The Scotch Piper, which is also my local I love track days and wheelying, but the roads are fun too I drive for a living, and so I have to pick the right times and places for that fun...... My favourite tracks are Oulton and Ty Croes, which are handily the nearest too ......done Snetterton, Cadwell, and Donnington too. Just had a couple of years of no riding due to a crash at Ty Croes, hoping to put that behind me this Summer, with my Born Again Blade Struggling to post pics, but hopefully I can crack it and show the rebuild as it occurs
