hibernation and winter project

    hi guys
    mine is rr04
    like everybody else radiator is quiet shot and causes overheating in stationary traffic

    i want to give a proper clean to radiator soak in some kind of solution

    what can i use i want to dunk it in and soak for overnight to get rid of all that dirt

    i want to get the fins clean really insidie looks still amazing for 10 years old bike

    was thinking of getting it to a specialist but £400 sounds too much for recon so i want to do whatever i can best to clean fins
    tired to when radiator was still on the bike i ended uo damaging more
    i want to clean with chemical and maybe a little brush
    just want to know what would be best chemical for them

    You could just soak it soapy warm water over night then use a brush and if possible compressed air to blow it out the next day. Did this to my rad when I refurbed it last year without any issues, no need for harsh chemicals imo

    I agree It's just road muck, perhaps a bit of tar, the secret is take your time steep with a detergent for a while, I find a solution of Biological washing powder is good. But you have to make sure its dissolved properly first.

    thanks guy i tried engine gunk also some hars alloy whell cleaner

    i will get a big bicket and soak the bustard in than if the result is good i might even sand down the sides and paint again

    :)))
