    Hi all

I am looking for some advice, I have a 2013 fireblade and when I first start the engine up, the rev's typically sit at between 1,900 - 2,100 and seem to take a long time to settle.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be?

    Thanks in advance

    Rob

It's the choke, quite normal. My 2005rr takes about 3-4 mins to settle to "normal" tick over, as did my 929 and cbr600 before that.

Thanks Sulaco, I should have said that I knew it was the choke, it was more the time it was taking to settle, my GSXR750 K7 took nowhere near as long to settle, however if thats quite normal then that is fine.

    Thanks again.

My 2015 Blade is the same, takes a good few minutes to relax after starting

Give it a few blips and it tends to settle slightly quicker.

Has the bike been remapped? Only asking as my bike had a custom map on it when I bought it and it did rev quite high (3500 rpm ish) starting from from cold. I have since had it remapped as it was running a bit rich and not too smooth at low speeds. Much better now and it doesn't rev so high (2000 rpm) when starting from cold

If you can, check at what coolant temperature the idle drops to normal, then it is easier to compare with other bikes
