i think i may have either a shifter or gearbox problem. when i shift from 3rd to 4th on track, more often than not it spits its dummy out either by just hitting neutral or just even dropping it downt to 2nd neither of which is nice. if i use the clutch to change from 3rd to 4th i have no probs. could it be that i have it set up wrong, or could it be the gearbox itself, even though i cant see that because with the clutch it works fine. can i simply alter the settings and test whilst its on the paddock stands, or is that fraught with danger? any ideas welcome. many thanx
Take it out and constantly change the fucker till you hit the sweet spot. It took me many attempts and pure rage to get mine to work right I found the sensitivity to be about 35/40 and the kill time about 65/70 mines a plus SS. In theory there should be a different kill time between every gear but you cant do that unfortunately. Pick a sensitivity setting then play about with your kill times until you get one you think is right then adjust the sensitivity till it goes shit then change it to the one before it went worse then start adjusting the kill time again till it goes shit and once again change it to the last good setting then adjust the sensitivity to see if it makes it better if not leave it be and you should have it set up If im honest the HM unit for me is not what I expected i constantly feel like its killing the box ive rode a bike with the dyno jet one fitted that cuts the fuel and they are set up with different kill times in every gear it just feels nicer on the box ill not be getting another HM also mine failed last year and completely stopped my bike from starting but they replaced it free of charge and said they never had my specific problem before. I think ill be removing mine for a dyno jet one to be honest, if not translogic as ive heard nothing but praise for them from lads that had HM Hope that helps you out dude
Could be a bent/worn selector fork to be fair. I'd take the quickshifter off and see how it goes without. That'll let you know either way
Sounds like a gearbox issue and not the HM quickshifter, I Would have a close look at your selectors... Just disconnect the quickshifter and see if you still have the same issue! I'm 100% sure you will... Good luck
can i just disconnect the shifter multiplug, or have i got to go through the whole episode of taking the loom off the coils and reverting back to normal with the bikes own loom?
You should be able to just unplug the strain gauge from the connector in the loom, no need to take off the coil caps etc, least you will be able to eliminate the issue...
im presuming i,ll have to strip the loom back to original, otherwise there is no feed or earth to switch the coils
i have. its now a non starter. i think rather than get to the coils again i,d rather burn the piece of shit. i might just track it at donnington on monday and try to blow the bast,.,;' thing to smitherines
wow, thank feck I bought the healtech, you can turn it off and on as required on yer phone, that sounds like an awfie faff just to turn it off on the HM
Strange.... Ok keep it connected but just take it off the link rod and replace with OE rod and zip tie it out the way....then try
Yeah you might be able to turn the healtech off with your phone but that dosnt make up for the fact its shit Do what Dave said it will work. I feel the pain dude I had to do all the install and removal twice when mine broke next time I do it its getting sold
i think regardlessnow carlo, its coming off and getting sold. i,ll do without it. at my pace on track it makes no difference. im always feckin slow
