Can anyone recommend a good place and best priced supplier to get a HM quickshifter from. I'm between the hm plus or just a hm lite. I mainly only do road riding. The best price I've seen a lite is £238 is this about right? Thanks in advance
There is nothing comes close to holding the throttle on the stop and feeding a bike gears with a quickshifter
Then you don't know what you are missing. Believe me I never thought I could justify it and like you thought clutch less shifting meant there would be little in it ... However, having experienced it I will never buy a bike without one!
I've decided.. I'm going to order the HM lite from HM direct they are the cheapest. My he next question is does anybody know the shift rod size for standard rearsets? I'm not home otherwise I'd measure.
I bet the feeling of blasting through the gears whilst holding the throttle open is a hoot. I'd have ride a bike with one to compare as is already mentioned they're not cheap.
It's just hard to explain in words... you have to experience it for yourself. They start from £200 so are cheaper than doing exhaust / power commander / etc. upgrades but in all honesty make more of a performance increase than those combined. The way the bike makes progress up the road is ridiculous ... the first few times you experience using one you will be laughing like a mad man in your helmet
Nope... remember the bonus of a QS is you can chose whether you want to use it or not. i.e. it adds a feature but subtracts nothing. So you can still clutchless shift if you wish, rev match, etc... I can even shift down using the QS on mine ... although you are not supposed to without an auto blipper. It does work however, but I value my gearbox ... likewise can use 1st-2nd ... but if you get the shift wrong your gearbox is going to complain!
So, it will work going through 1st > 2nd and through Neutral? No need for the clutch? That would be a great thing. My Knowledge of these things is limited as I've never considered it. Sorry to the lad who's thread I've hijacked too
I was debating one of them too but not heard much about them. The problem I would have with setting up is I have an iPhone and there is no app for it yet. Is it easy to fit?
The only one that is safe to use for 1st to 2nd is the HM GP as it has independent kill times for each gear. It's not cheap but neither is a new gearbox
