This one has been rattling around in my mind for a little while now. Last time I looked radiator guards for 954s are far and few between in the UK, so speculated that making my own wasn't outside of my engineering prowess. I spoke to a company that specialises in mesh and explained the use and issues that may arise. They recommended stainless steel with 1mm spaces. Rolling this around the thought process, I'm wondering, would 2mm offer sufficient protection but be better for not impeding airflow as much. Discuss...
All the ones I have seen on eBay and the like have bigger holes than 1mm, so I would have thought 2mm would be fine, I guess what ever size the holes, its always going to be a compromise between protecting the rad and keeping it cool. The more protection the better, just as long as it doesn't over heat. I would say a small gap between the rad and the protector would help as then not only can any needed air come round the sides as well, but any stone hitting it would have to hit it harder to dent anything. My my 2p of thoughts
